The documentation of the restoration is a fundamental moment for the preservation of our historical and artistic heritage.
25 years after the signing by Michele Cordaro – director of the Central Institute of Restoration – of the agreement between the ICR and the Associazione Giovanni Secco Suardo for the establishment of a National Historical Archive and Database of Italian Restorers (ASRI), it is with pleasure that we present the state of the art of the project and the new online database RES.I.
A search interface for restorers, scholars and industry professionals.
We consider today even more valid the principle that the protection of the cultural heritage cannot be exercised without due consideration of the conservative events and therefore of the history of the protected works, as it was signed by the two first promoters, Beyond the ICR and our organization: the Superintendence of Historical and Artistic Heritage of Milan and the School of specialization in History of Medieval and Modern Art of the University “La Sapienza” of Rome.

This Seminar is addressed to the promoters, to the Scientific Committee, to all those who have entrusted us with their archives, to all researchers and universities who have worked and believed in the project, to all the entities that wanted to support and finance it and to all future users.
