Conservation Restoration Institutions for Scientific Terminology Dedicated to Art Learning Network
European Project – 1999-2000
Since long time the scientific community has been emphasising. the need for a multi-lingual glossary of technical-scientific terminology for conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage.
After the experience of N.A.R.C.I.S.S.E. (Network of Research Computer Image SystemS in Europe) in 1993 the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France decided to restart a research activity on this matter. The Associazione Giovanni Secco Suardo’s experience in this project have produced the first specific Italian conservation-restoration glossary: Pittura Murale. Proposta per un glossario (Mural painting. Proposition for a glossary) edited by Mara Nimmo and with the collaboration of Carla Bertorello, Marie-José Mano, Mariabianca Paris e Lidia Rissotto.
