Roof maintenance of the Visconti Castle in Pandino

As a continuation of the methodology of preventive conservation, the project intends to launch a new policy of preservation of cultural heritage and historical architecture, focusing activity routine maintenance as a primary element of safeguarding, rediscovering and re-introducing the culture of conservation and maintenance, starting from the side of the historic building more fragile, but at the same time the most important for its conservation total, that is the roofs.

The critical situation of the preservation of historical roofs, with the repetition of infiltration is a major cause that has been addressed and solved with this project.
The specific causes that are addressed are limited to the coverage sector: lack of a culture of maintenance, lack of trained personnel, poor supply of security systems specifically designed for historic structures, and architectural complexes – like the castle of Pandino -, lack of routine maintenance plans that see activity maintenance practices for public buildings.
